I’m Adriana Yankulova Chapkanova — a photographer drawn to the human presence, working primarily in actor portraiture, fashion, and visual storytelling. Trained at the Bulgarian Film Academy, my path has evolved between the intimacy of photographic sessions and the cinematic environment of film productions, where I work as a still photographer alongside my independent creative practice.Photographing actors has become a central part of my language — an exploration of vulnerability, character, and transformation. In fashion, I’m interested in the space where form, emotion, and atmosphere converge. My work is shaped by a cinematic sensibility: a sensitivity to light, gesture, and the subtle tension that lives beneath the surface.
Alongside portrait and editorial work, I’ve contributed to international film productions, an experience that continues to inform my visual approach — teaching me to anticipate the unspoken moment and to recognize truth as it briefly reveals itself.I create images that feel alive — intimate yet powerful, refined yet instinctive. For me, photography is not only about how something looks, but about what it reveals..
